Emily is an anti-racist, global educator committed to creating sustainable partnerships and solutions that recognize the whole child, family, and community. She holds a Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in community organization and nonprofit management, and a Master’s in International Development with a concentration in Human Security from the University of Pittsburgh.
She spent the last 7 years working for a global education and youth development organization in New York City. Emily has significant experience in the Community Schools sector, acting as Community School Director at a 3k-8th grade public school in East Harlem. There, she was a building leader who focused on attendance, student wellbeing, student voice and choice, and connecting resources between varying agencies and families. She also created and facilitated interactive and student-led residencies that connected pre-established English and Social Studies curriculum with local and global movements and events. Emily is currently based in Melbourne, Australia.
