Elizabeth Bishop

Co-Founder

Dr. Elizabeth Bishop is a co-founder of Global Turning Points. She is an educator, researcher and youth advocate with two decades of experience in public schools, universities and community organizations across the U.S. Dr. Bishop is also the Founder of Motivation Catalyst, a SaaS impact platform that is a joint venture with GTP.

Dr. Bishop teaches on the faculty of Youth Studies at CUNY SPS and the faculty of the School of Education at the University of San Francisco. Bishop has held leadership positions at the Columbia Law School’s Center for Institutional and Social Change, Teachers College at Columbia University, the City University of New York, Ithaca College and the NYC Department of Education as well as many non-profit organizations.

Dr. Bishop holds a Ph.D. in Education: Language, Literacy and Culture, an M.S.T. in Adolescent Education, an M.A. in Literary and Cultural Studies, and a B.A. in Planned Studies. She recently completed the Global Leadership Diploma out of the Center for Executive Education at the University for Peace in Costa Rica. Bishop has authored two books, numerous articles, and has been featured in Good Morning America Digital, PBS NewsHour, Business Insider and PolitiFact. Bishop’s writing includes her three books: 2015 Becoming Activist: Critical Literacy and Youth Organizing and her 2018 Embodying Theory: Epistemology, Aesthetics and Resistance which she created in collaboration with artist Tamsen Wojtanowski. Bishop just released her 2023 Whiting Out: Writing on Vulnerability, Racism & Repair.
